Rendez-vous with Minister of Labor

Towards a Safer, More Inclusive, and Resilient Labor Market Luncheon with Taiwan’s Minister of Labor

French Chamber Taiwan had the honor of hosting Minister HUNG Sun-Han (洪申翰) for an insightful exchange with our business community.

We sincerely thank the Minister and the Ministry of Labor for their innovative policies that enhance labor market flexibility while protecting workers’ rights—initiatives that improve employee well-being and foster sustainable business growth.

During the discussion, Minister HUNG shared updates on:
? Workplace Safety – stronger inspections, clearer employer responsibilities, and technology-driven prevention
? Inclusion & Gender Equality – flexible work arrangements, parental leave reforms, and incentives for family-friendly workplaces
? Talent Retention – addressing labor shortages through training, upskilling, and new pathways for foreign professionals

He also highlighted upcoming initiatives, including the Workplace Bullying Prevention Law and the streamlining of foreign professional permits, underscoring the government’s openness to public–private collaboration.

Key takeaway: The future of labor is not just about numbers—it’s about designing systems that reflect the real lives and evolving expectations of workers.

Special thanks to our distinguished panelists:

  • Terence Ong, Managing Director, Pernod Ricard Taiwan
  • Lilly Chiu, HR Manager, L'Oréal Taiwan
  • John Lim, FCILT FICDM, CEO, CMA CGM Taiwan
  • Irene Hsueh, HR Manager, Crédit Agricole CIB Taiwan
