[CFO Club] Impact of the US-Iran War on Taiwan's Market & Geoeconomics Fragmentation ⛓️💥

Last Thursday (June 11th) we were pleased to gather at Veolia Office to hold the second annual session of the CFO Club for 2026!
In a context where geopolitical uncertainty is increasingly becoming an integral part of corporate strategy, we felt it was essential to bring our valued club members together to take stock of the current situation and discuss the new horizons this presents here in Taiwan.
Hence we were really honored to welcome two prestigious speakers, to share their expert insights on these matters:
Antoine Aubel, Head of the Economic Department of the French Office in Taipei
Chris Hung, Vice-President and General Director of the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC)
A sincere thanks to them for their time, as well as providing us with their deep understanding of the current situation and their enlightening analysis.
The meeting first started with a quick tour of Veolia freshly inaugurated offices by our dear group leader and host for the evening Gabriel David. A brand-new modern and fully equipped complex bringing together the company's all local activities and subsidiaries and celebrating its 30 years of operational excellence in Taiwan!
Then we were pleased to listen to Mr. Aubel presentation exploring the broader economic impact of the Iran-US War on Taiwan's Market. The occasion of focusing on the strategic reserves of Taiwan and its resilience, and to question the priorities of resourcing in order to maintain the island values chains. Followed-up Mr. Hung presentation discussing the current geoeconomics fragmentation shift and Taiwan's growing role in the global ICT and AI ecosystem.
The meeting finally concluded with a very engaging Q/A and sharing session between our speakers and attendees and a small informal cocktail session in the Veolia Café!
Once again sincere appreciation to our group leader Gabriel David for hosting us at Veolia, to our speakers Antoine Aubel and Chris Hung, as well as his associates Yingfen Lin and Shih Yi, and of course, to our dear members for their active participation: Éric Sichere (Air Liquide), Margot Ambroise (Pernod-Ricard), Vincent Mesnard (EDF Power Solutions), Andy Ings (Lado Management Consulting), Ann Yu (Hermes), Francois de Fournoux (Pierre Fabre), Sunny Chan (Richemont).
