[Event Recap] FCT 2026 GALA | Paris 1900: La Belle Époque, Cabaret Night

Our 2026 Gala welcomed guests into the enchanting world of La Belle Époque, recreating the elegance and vibrancy of Paris at the turn of the twentieth century. Inspired by the era's artistic spirit and refined charm, the evening featured captivating live performances, elegant décor, and an atmosphere reminiscent of a Parisian soirée.
Guests enjoyed an unforgettable night of fine dining, entertainment, networking, and celebration. The festivities continued into the after-party, where live music and dancing brought the spirit of La Belle Époque to life.
Bringing together members, partners, and friends of the Chamber, the Gala was a memorable celebration of French culture, creativity, and community.
Our evening opened with a welcome toast and opening remarks delivered by our distinguished VIP guests, including Chi-Ming Peng, Minister of Environment; Franck Paris, Director of the French Office in Taipei; Eva Leihener-Stefan, Chairwoman of the French Chamber Taiwan & Managing Director of L’Oréal; and Stéphane Peden, General Manager of the French Chamber Taiwan.
Main Show
The evening unfolded through three distinctive performances, each capturing a different facet of French artistry and spirit.
The programme opened with a heartfelt tribute to Edith Piaf, performed by singer Anne Dewees, pianist Liu Chun-wei, and accordionist Primoz Parovel. Together, the trio brought Piaf’s timeless chansons to life, blending their diverse musical backgrounds into an evocative performance that set an elegant and emotional tone for the night.
The atmosphere then shifted as James Liu, saxophonist and founder of Mojo Music in Taipei, took the stage. Trained in Los Angeles and experienced across numerous events, he delivered a lively and engaging set that went beyond the stage, as he moved through the crowd and interacted with guests, creating an immersive and dynamic musical experience.
The evening concluded on a high-energy note with the iconic French Cancan, a vibrant dance born in 19th-century Paris. With its signature high kicks and spirited choreography, the performers not only lit up the stage but also engaged with guests, bringing the exuberance and festive spirit of the Belle Époque directly to the audience and ending the night in celebration.
