Responding to the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), Bureau Veritas Collaborates with Advantech and MediaTek to Complete an IEC 62443-4-2 Certification for an Arm-Based Industrial Platform

Taiwan, December 31, 2025 — As the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) approaches implementation, cybersecurity requirements for industrial and embedded systems are becoming increasingly explicit across product design, development processes, and regulatory compliance. Bureau Veritas continues to support the development of international industrial control security standards such as CRA and IEC62443, and to assist industries in transforming regulatory requirements into practically implementable product verification and compliance processes.

In collaboration with Advantech and MediaTek, Bureau Veritas has completed a representative industrial cybersecurity cerification project. Advantech’s RSB-3810, an Arm-based industrial single-board computer powered by MediaTek’s Genio 1200 platform, has successfully achieved IEC 62443-4-2 Verification of Conformity (VoC), demonstrating a practical compliance approach under the CRA framework.

Sébastian Doose, Senior Vice President of the Global Technology Products Business Line at Bureau Veritas, said: “As cybersecurity regulations such as the CRA continue to evolve, the challenge for companies extends beyond regulatory compliance to effectively embedding cybersecurity into product design and development processes. Advantech’s early integration of IEC 62443 in this project demonstrates a strong commitment to industrial cybersecurity. Bureau Veritas is pleased to support companies through independent verification and expert guidance, helping them achieve compliance efficiently while strengthening trust in global markets.”

Miller Chang, General Manager of Advantech’s Embedded Sector, stated: “As edge AI and industrial applications continue to evolve, Arm architecture is emerging as a strong foundation for industrial systems by balancing performance and energy efficiency. By expanding our Arm portfolio and proactively aligning with international cybersecurity standards such as IEC 62443 ahead of the CRA, Advantech is helping customers achieve compliance more efficiently while accelerating global
deployment.”

CK Wang, General Manager of MediaTek’s IoT Business Unit, commented: "Recognizing the strong demand for CRA compliance in the European market, MediaTek, together with Advantech, successfully certified the Arm-based RSB-3810 industrial SBC—featuring the Genio 1200 IoT platform and running the Ubuntu Pro OS—to achieve IEC 62443 certification, enhancing the platform’s cybersecurity for endpoint applications.
