French Chamber Taiwan Visits Far Eastern Department Stores to Explore New Retail Opportunities

On 14 October, the French Chamber Taiwan’s General Manager Stephane PEDEN and Manager of Member Relations & External Affairs Amber Flynn had the privilege of visiting Far Eastern Department Stores (遠東百貨). They were welcomed by Nancy Hsu, Vice Chairman and President, together with the executive teams of Far Eastern Department Stores, city’super and a.mart.
Far Eastern Department Stores runs 42 large department store malls across Taiwan, and it is one of the island’s leading names in premium retail. The Far Eastern Group is no stranger to our Chamber: its joint venture Air Liquide Far Eastern is one of our members. French luxury is one of the strongest categories in the group’s stores, and it reflects how much Taiwanese consumers love French luxury, fashion and culture.
Discussions focused on bringing new French and international brands to Taiwan, and on connecting the group with our members who are looking to open in the market. With Far Eastern Department Stores celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2027, the timing for closer collaboration could hardly be better.
We extend our sincere thanks to Nancy, Anita and the whole team for their warm hospitality and an insightful exchange, and we look forward to the opportunities ahead.
