Chef David Rathgeber recreates the best of french bistro cuisine at S Restaurant & Bar

 

 

David Rathgeber brings the quintessential French bistro experience to Taipei for two days only, Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, as guest chef at S Restaurant & Bar.  For his Taiwan debut, he will present 5-course set menus for lunch and dinner, showcasing his love of definitive French country cooking.

Chef Rathgeber runs L’Assiette bistro in Montparnasse in Paris’ Left Bank, a local institution serving his interpretations of the rustic, authentically French dishes which are the bedrock of the country’s reputation for culinary greatness.  He feels strongly about upholding French culinary traditions and turns his mastery of gastronomic cooking techniques to creating unpretentious yet inherently refined offerings. Many of his dishes hark back to those he enjoyed in childhood around the Sunday dinner table – deceptively simple yet layered with flavor, hearty and immensely satisfying.

A native of Clermont-Ferrand, France, Chef Rathgeber’s culinary journey began when at only 18 he became the protegée of world-celebrated chef Alain Ducasse.  In the years following, he gained experience in multiple renowned restaurants in the Ducasse empire, from the Louis XV restaurant in Monaco and at Plaza Athenee in Paris to the Essex House in New York City.   While chef at the historic Parisian restaurant Benoit, the establishment earned its first Michelin Star. He took a detour 10 years ago, taking over the iconic Lulu Rousseau restaurant, a convivial magnet for leading French figures and celebrities.    

There is perhaps no more fitting venue for Chef Rathgeber’s first appearance in Taiwan than S Restaurant & Bar, a cozy and colorful restaurant designed by world-renowned French designer Philippe Starck.  Diners can savor Chef Rathgeber’s creations in the main dining area, al fresco on the foliage-filled outdoor terrace, or at the bar in true French bistro style.

名廚DAVID RATHGEBER於S餐廳及酒吧全新演繹法式酒館美味David Rathgeber 將於6月8-9日(周五-週六)兩天客座S Hotel的S餐廳及酒吧,為台北的饕餮食客奉獻法式酒館美味體驗。 此次是他首次蒞臨台灣,他將精心打造5道菜午餐及晚餐盛筵,傾情呈現精湛廚藝,以及對法式經典家常菜肴的完美詮釋。

Rathgeber大廚負責位於巴黎左岸Montparnasse地區 L’Assiette酒館餐廳的全面運作,素以風格純朴、風味地道的法式佳肴而聞名, 為來自世界各地的食客演繹享譽全球的法式烹飪之精髓。他積極倡導傳承烹飪傳統,憑借他的精湛技藝,創造出盡善盡美,又不失淳朴風格的家鄉美肴。他的許多美食創意靈感來源於他對兒時周日家庭聚餐的美好記憶,因此他的菜肴風格簡約,卻濃香扑鼻、風味十足,充滿著家的溫度。

Rathgeber  大廚出生於法國 Clermont-Ferrand,18歲時就師從世界名廚  Alain Ducasse 鍛煉廚藝。之后,他又在多間享負盛名的Ducasse旗下餐廳任職,包括摩納哥的Louis XV 餐廳、巴黎的Plaza Athenee、紐約的Essex House等,積累了豐富的烹飪經驗。他在歷史悠久的巴黎Benoit餐廳擔任廚師期間,該餐廳首獲米其林星級殊榮。十年前,他擔綱主理遐邇聞名的Lulu Rousseau餐廳,吸引了無數明星和名流紛至沓來。

S餐廳及酒吧由享譽世界的設計名家菲立普∙史塔克設計,色彩繽紛,風格溫馨,是Rathgeber大廚首次蒞臨台灣大展廚藝的絕佳之地。 賓客可於此選擇心儀的用餐區域,包括典雅的主餐廳、風光秀麗的戶外露台,及洋溢著法式酒館風情的酒吧,悠閑品嘗Rathgeber大廚的新穎美味創意。
