About the National Development Council
The National Development Council serves as the cabinet level of the Executive Yuan with duties not limited to crafting population policies, cultivating talent, conserving land and balancing regional development. In addition to spurring and maintaining economic growth, it will also promote social justice, especially in ensuring a more equitable distribution of wealth.
The 12 Key Strategies action plan complementing the 2050 Net-Zero Transition Goals have been put into place earlier in March this year. The council has identified four strategies to transition, “energy, ” “industrial,” “lifestyle,” and “social.” The council would complement the transitions via “Technology R&D” and “Climate Legislation.”
