Why the F&B Committee?

The main goal of CCIFT’s team is to seek ideas and come up with new projects to satisfy our members.
Moreover, through our involvement in missions such as Business Development, HR and others, CCIFT took the decision to create Committees.
Involved in F&B advising after a 10 years F&B entrepreneurship, our member BELGA, represented by
Elias KAZI, has proposed the creation of an F&B committee. Elias KAZI identified, due to an increasing
number of CCIFT F&B members, all the opportunities that could be reached by to sharing and unifying
our knowledge/network but also a possible strong lobbying for changes in this challenging industry.

Introduction to the Committee

We established a F&B committee with the aim to create a synergy between all our F&B members, enhance our collective interests by sharing (practices, network), brainstorming (general issues, trends) and organizing (promotional activities, joint events).
We also expect to create a joint lobby towards the Taiwanese government by working closely with local official French entities such as Business France and the economic section of the French Office.

Organization

The CCIFT provides the committee all the required resources for its proper functioning: Meeting Room, Assistance, Database, web visibility.
Every year, CCIFT and its members will elect 2 co-chairs whose mission is to manage the F&B committee and ensure committee missions and guidelines are respected.

For the period 6/2019-6/2020, the volunteered co-chairs nominated by CCIFT Board of directors are:

Grégoire Debré – Terroir & Spice

Grégoire has been working in Taiwan for more than 10 years as the director of Sopexa Taiwan and South East Asia. He has founded his own company “Terroir & Spice” that operates in Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam and all over Asia. His company is specialized in marketing, events and communication for food and beverage. Grégoire is experienced on this topic because he already has been part of the F&B committee in Singapore. He thinks that being a group is important to promote F&B products through event. He organized various festivals in Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam for French food.

Elias Kazi – BELGA Food & Beverage Co. Ltd.

Elias has been involved in F&B in Taiwan since 2012. He owned his food retail chain until 2018 and is now involved in B2B food supply with his factory. He partly built his branding by attending over 30 events within 4 years in whole Taiwan. Elias has fully understood the F&B operation in Taiwan but is very worried about the durability of the French actors given the economic instability. Throughout the years, he faced and solved all sorts of basic and unexpected issues then decided to help by voluntarily advising all new comers in this industry. Being member of CCIFT board of directors, he thus proposed the creation of a F&B committee in order to help this fascinating but daily challenging industry.
