Preferred Hotels & Resorts, a brand of Preferred Hotel Group and a collection of more than 200 of the world’s most desirable destinations and newly discovered havens, is pleased to announce its first member in Taipei – Palais de Chine Hotel.
As the flagship hotel of Taiwan-based L’Hotel de Chine Group, the newly opened brand new Palais de Chine Hotel is unique in Taipei with its Parisian theme, ornate interiors of plush fabrics, imported furniture and antique pieces. Conveniently located for both business and leisure travelers, it is next to the city’s transportation hub – Taipei’s Bus Terminal, Railway, High Speed Railway connecting to other parts of Taiwan and also the Taipei Metro (MRT) for travel within the city. It is part of a new development comprising shopping and entertainment and walking distance to key attractions such as the night markets, Ximending, Longshang Temple and Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Palais de Chine Hotel can be described as a 5 stars hotel with its inspiring cultural depth and artistic details. Both feminine and masculine shades of colors accentuate the guest rooms, afternoon tea culture parallels to that of French Le Marais, the Louis XIIII style long hall, the French aristocratic Safari luxury, and the Banquet Hall with 16 chandeliers in Opera-de-Paris style provide for a classical French ambience. The 2-meter-high wooden horse sculpture at the main entrance reminiscent the very beginning of traveler since horses, tamed as the very first transportation, make journey possible; the oversized from-floor-to-ceiling bookshelf contributing to Holy Roman Emperor Charles V with his famous motto “plus ultra,” meaning “to seek further beyond,” reflects travelers’ recovery and exploration.
The 286 rooms and suites are elegantly appointed with Art Deco-meets-Oriental design touches, some offering city views of Taipei’s west. Exclusively created for L’Hotel de Chine hotels, the in-room technology named E-Butler is a sophisticated and user-friendly service accessible through the television. Guests can control air-conditioning, lighting and music; view monthly-updated free movies on demand; and check airport and railway schedules. The work desks are conveniently oversized equipped with a Media Hub for connectivity of electronic devices to the room’s television.
The hotel’s dining venues offer upscale experiences featuring a French inspired grill restaurant with a specially designed wood-fired oven, a Cantonese restaurant, a European themed tea house and a lounge bar. Recreational facilities include a fitness centre and access to an outdoor pool. The luxurious ballroom, with its chandeliers and handmade copper drapery from the high ceiling, can accommodate 30 tables or 202 people theatre-style. There are four other function rooms, all equipped with cutting-edge meeting facilities such as electronic projector screens, floor spotli
