In this economic downturn, CSR has become increasingly evident of its importance. The question that we face today is not anymore on “why should we do CSR?” this is already a given. Instead, the question should be focused on ‘how should we do CSR to meet stakeholders’ expectations?’, such as complying to regulations and best practices, publishing CSR reports, reducing GHG emissions, initiating philanthropy events, committing to a social movement, improving stakeholder relations or even winning CSR awards.

Speaker: Ms. Gennie Yen, CEO of Veda International Coporation, who has been in the marketing communication and public relations for 20 years, servicing multinational companies such as Microsoft, HP, Ford Motor, Adobe, etc. She set up Veda’s CSR division in 2007 and Veda therefore became the first Taiwanese member of GRI (the global CSR guideline setting organization). Gennie is also an enterprise lecturer in PR, CSR and communication management in enterprises and training organizations. Gennie supports some NGOs as volunteer - a board director for both YWCA and BPW Taipei. She was a biology major in Fu Jen University in Taiwan and has an eMBA degree of Helsinki University of Finland.
